The Year at a Glance pages in the front of most planners is not a birthday calendar. Well, let me take that back. The Year at a Glance pages can be used for so much more than just tracking birthdays. Now, don’t get me wrong! Using it as a birthday calendar is wonderful. My birthday is on June 12th, if you want to put it in your calendar. In this post, I’d like to share some other ideas for using those first few pages in our planners.

What are the Year At A Glance Pages?

Here is what our Year at a Glance pages look like in our planners. There are three columns for each of the four pages. On top of each column is the monthly calendar followed by lines numbered from 1 to 28 or 30 or 31. One line for each day of that month. Notice that days that fall on the weekend are lightly shaded to make it easy to differentiate from weekdays.
